🇧🇩How to Register for the JLPT in Bangladesh

Bangladesh has one test city. Dhaka is it, for both sittings and all five levels, and the test is run locally by the Japanese Universities Alumni Association in Bangladesh. That single-city setup means seats are the constraint here more than in most countries.

Before you register

JUAAB administers the test in Bangladesh under The Japan Foundation and publishes each cycle's notice on its JLPT portal. Because the whole country registers for one city, apply on the opening day rather than near the deadline.

Registration Steps

Read the current cycle's notice first

JUAAB posts a notice for each sitting with that cycle's dates and fee. Everything else you will read about JLPT Bangladesh online is downstream of that notice and often a year behind it.

Apply early, because there is only one city

Every candidate in the country registers for Dhaka. There is no second city to fall back on, so the opening days matter more here than in countries with a dozen sites.

Match your details to your photo ID

Your registered name has to match the ID you bring on the day. This is checked at the door and cannot be corrected there.

Collect your admission ticket

The admission ticket (受験票 / juken-hyō) shows your venue, room and seat number. Print it. Nobody sits the exam without it.

Teacher's Tips

Dhaka is the only test city in Bangladesh, so treat the opening day of registration as the real deadline.
Take the fee from the current JUAAB notice. Figures circulating on aggregator sites are often from an older cycle.
